IWD 2026 Ecosystem Dialogue and Networking Forum (hybrid)

For International Women's Day (IWD), we invite you to an evening of bold conversations, inspiring leadership, and meaningful connections.

This is a hybrid event; however, only online slots are still available.

IWD provides a strategic platform to elevate conversations on inclusive leadership, equitable economic participation, and intersectional approaches to sustainable development. It offers an opportunity to explore how gender equality, youth leadership, and the inclusion of marginalised communities intersect with Canada’s international engagement, economic diplomacy, and development partnerships.

The High Commission of Canada to Kenya and Supivaa Advisory Group Ltd. (Supivaa) — a Canadian–African impact investment advisory firm working at the intersection of gender-lens investing and inclusive ecosystem building — will convene stakeholders from government, finance, entrepreneurship, and civil society for an evening of dialogue and collaboration.

Hosted on an outdoor balcony overlooking Nairobi’s skyline, this forum will facilitate an exchange of ideas on how strategic partnerships can unlock broader economic opportunities and highlight the intersection of gender equality, youth leadership, and inclusive economic participation within Canada–Africa trade, investment, and development partnerships.

Canada’s engagement in Africa recognises women and youth not only as beneficiaries of development, but as drivers of economic transformation. With nearly 60% of Africa’s population under 25, investing in youth skills, entrepreneurship, and inclusive markets is both an economic opportunity and a strategic priority.

Opening remarks will be delivered by H.E. Joshua Tabah, High Commissioner for Canada, followed by a discussion with private and public sector leaders sharing perspectives on advancing investment and partnerships that support women and youth.

Throughout the evening, an exhibition space will feature organisations, funders, and entrepreneurs showcasing innovations and initiatives advancing opportunities for women and youth. The exhibitors include Aga Khan Foundation, African Leadership University, Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), Global Innovation Fund, Nordic Impact Fund, CheckupsCOVA, Roam, Renew Capital and several others.

This forum aims to spotlight progress, confront structural barriers, and foster partnerships that place women and youth at the centre of Canada–Africa economic collaboration.

What to expect:

  • A dynamic panel on ‘From Voice to Value: Youth, Women, and the Architecture of Opportunity.’

  • Thought-provoking reflections from Canadian leaders shaping partnerships across Africa.

  • Interactive audience dialogues that bring diverse perspectives into the heart of the conversations.

  • A vibrant outdoor exhibition and networking space designed to catalyse meaningful connections and collaboration.

How to Attend:

  • Online: Select the online option at registration to receive your event access link via email.
