CAFIID is a global network advancing impact investing in emerging markets. We convene investors, ecosystem actors, and partners to support more inclusive and sustainable financial systems. With new multi-country programming launching, CAFIID is entering a period of strategic growth and operational expansion.
Role Overview
The Project Manager will lead the day-to-day implementation and coordination of CAFIID's growing portfolio of international and domestic programming, including Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-funded projects.
Working closely with the Director of Programs and Operations, the Project Manager will serve as the operational hub for project delivery, ensuring activities remain coordinated across multiple countries, partners, consultants, and workstreams. The role will help translate strategy into implementation by managing workplans, tracking deliverables, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting adaptive project management.
As CAFIID continues to grow, the Project Manager will play a key role in building systems, strengthening project management practices, and supporting collaboration across both donor-funded initiatives and CAFIID's broader ecosystem programming.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management and Delivery
Lead day-to-day implementation of CAFIID projects and programming.
Develop and maintain detailed project workplans, timelines, and implementation schedules.
Coordinate activities across multiple projects, workstreams, and countries.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify implementation risks and mitigation strategies.
Support adaptive management by identifying issues early and coordinating timely solutions.
Ensure project milestones and contractual deliverables are achieved on schedule.
2. Partner and Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate implementation across national partners, subcontractors, consultants, and technical advisors.
Facilitate regular project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and monitor follow-up actions.
Support coordination across multiple time zones and diverse stakeholder groups.
Maintain productive working relationships with project partners, funders, and ecosystem stakeholders.
Support onboarding of new consultants, partners, and project team.
3. Work Planning and Reporting
Maintain integrated project workplans across CAFIID's programming portfolio.
Coordinate inputs for donor reporting and implementation updates.
Track deliverables, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
Support preparation of implementation reports, progress updates, and board materials.
Ensure project documentation is organized and maintained.
4. Cross-Program Coordination
Support alignment between GAC-funded programming and CAFIID's broader ecosystem initiatives.
Identify opportunities to leverage common events, knowledge products, research, communications, and partnerships across projects.
Coordinate implementation across overlapping project streams to maximize efficiency and learning.
5. Monitoring, Learning, and Adaptive Management
Work with the team to ensure project implementation aligns with performance measurement frameworks.
Track implementation progress against project milestones and indicators.
Support learning reviews and integration of lessons into ongoing programming.
Monitor implementation risks and recommend course corrections where appropriate.
6. Organizational Systems and Process Development
Help strengthen CAFIID's internal project management systems and operating procedures.
Develop and improve templates, trackers, coordination tools, and documentation systems.
Support continuous improvement of project management practices as the organization grows.
Contribute to organizational planning and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
3+ years of project management experience.
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Experience working with donor-funded programming (Global Affairs Canada experience is a strong asset).
Experience coordinating international partnerships or multi-country projects.
Experience managing consultants, subcontractors, or project teams.
Experience working in nonprofit, international development, impact investing, or ecosystem-building organizations is an asset.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; graduate degree considered an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.

Flexibility for meetings outside standard business hours required due to international coordination
Occasional domestic and international travel will be required.
