The Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of Africa’s most significant yet undercapitalized investment destinations. With vast natural resources, a large and growing population, increasing urbanisation, strong agricultural potential, and major infrastructure gaps, the country offers substantial opportunities for impact-oriented investors.
At the same time, investors often perceive the DRC through the lens of fragility, political risk, and conflict. While these realities must be acknowledged, they can overshadow the country’s broader economic potential and the success stories already emerging in sectors such as financial inclusion, agriculture, renewable energy, logistics, and SME finance.
This webinar provides a grounded, practitioner-led discussion on investing in the DRC today — balancing risk with opportunity, and drawing on the direct experience of institutions operating on the ground. ARIA’s strategy in the DRC has focused on mobilizing DFI capital, supporting pipeline development, and reducing information and execution barriers for investors.

Vivianne Infante
Vivianne is a member of BII’s Africa Coverage Team and a long-standing pioneer of the institution’s presence in frontier markets. She previously served as Country Representative in the DRC and Ethiopia, leading investment origination, portfolio support, and government engagement. She also played a key role in founding the Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) to expand investment activity in frontier African markets.
Laurence Feza
Laurence is Head of DFIs Development at Rawbank, the leading commercial bank in the DRC. With over two decades of experience across banking and development finance, she leads Rawbank’s engagement with DFIs, mobilizing capital to support private sector growth in one of Africa’s most complex and promising markets.
Bertany Mounkela
Bertany is a Private Sector Development Adviser working at the intersection of diplomacy, investment, and economic reform. His work focuses on advancing UK investment and strengthening the private sector ecosystem in the DRC, particularly in green, climate, and inclusive finance sectors.
