Impact Measurement and Management Community of Practice featuring the CRANE Tier

CAFIID members are welcome to our Impact Measurement and Management Community of Practice February session featuring the CRANE Tier

This CAFIID IMM Community of Practice Action Meeting will feature an introduction to CRANE Tier, a free tool hosted on Koi.eco, including a live demo of and a discussion of how it supports more consistent, forward-looking greenhouse gas (GHG) impact assessment for emerging climate solutions.

The session will also provide a Project Frame methodology overview, with a focus on how the framework can be used to assess future emissions impact in early-stage climate technology contexts. Through practical examples and case-study discussion, participants will explore how CRANE and Project Frame can support stronger screening, diligence, and impact decision-making.

Context:

CRANE is the only free and open-access tool designed to calculate the forward-looking GHG impacts of emerging climate technologies. It offers standardized, user-friendly GHG impact calculations.

  • As a free, science-backed, and open-access software tool, CRANE fills a critical resource gap in the climate finance ecosystem.

  • CRANE empowers investors, innovators, philanthropists, and other users to make informed, data-driven decisions by uncovering the climate impact potential of new ventures. CRANE helps ensure that capital can reach the most impactful innovations and innovators, regardless of geography or background, and drive meaningful progress toward shared climate goals.

The tool was developed by Prime Coalition, a nonprofit that empowers donors to advance untapped climate solutions with speed and scale, in collaboration with Rho Impact, a software and data provider powering the world's most reliable impact forecasting.
