CAFIID is excited to announce our participation in the upcoming conference, "Development Cooperation in a Time of Geopolitical Instability," scheduled to take place at Carleton University from February 20-22, 2024. The conference, organized by the Canadian Association of International Development Professionals (CAIDP) in collaboration with the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA), will address critical issues such as geopolitical destabilization, conflict, and the evolving landscape of international development.

As part of this conference, CAFIID organized a GLI panel on February 21 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Titled "Gender Lens Investing in Emerging Markets: Best Practices from Canadian Practitioners," the session will delve into various GLI approaches employed by four Canadian-based organizations, all of which are active CAFIID members working across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Drawing from the recently launched CAFIID GLI case study series, the panel aims to spotlight innovative GLI models and approaches, offering specific examples of GLI in diverse contexts and its contributions to women's economic empowerment.

We invite you to join us in this enriching session, contributing to the discourse on gender lens investing and its transformative impact.

Your attendance at the conference, either in person or virtually, is highly encouraged. Plenary sessions will be accessible virtually for those unable to attend in person and will be shared on CAIDP's social media channels. Your participation will greatly contribute to the ongoing discussions on inclusive governance, development policies, systemic barriers to development, partnerships, and other practical issues facing the Canadian international development community.
