Ottawa/Hybrid Event: Innovative Financing for Nature-based Solutions in Mangrove Communities

This event focused on innovative financing strategies that support community-based Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in mangrove ecosystems. It explored the challenges, opportunities, and co-benefits of NbS, including gender equality and climate-resilient livelihoods.

Co-hosted by Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) and Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID).

This event discussed effective strategies for enabling long-term financing for NbS in mangrove ecosystems, as well as how to unlock financing for blue carbon and related ecosystem services. By bringing together Canadian and international experts, the event aimed to share valuable insights and strategies for scaling successful NbS initiatives. The event featured an opening address by CAFIID, followed by an engaging panel discussion with prominent leaders in the field.
