United Nations Capital Development Fund
Established in 1966 by the United Nations General Assembly, the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) works to mobilize and catalyse capital for sustainable development in Least Developed Countries, Small Island Developing States and fragile settings. Reaffirmed by Member States in the Compromiso de Sevilla, UNCDF provides catalytic concessional capital, using grants, loans, guarantees and blended finance solutions, to reduce risk and unlock investment. By strengthening local financial systems across micro, small and medium enterprises, subnational finance and digital finance, UNCDF helps build viable pipelines and crowd in domestic and international public and private capital to scale impact.
