Yingzhi Sarah Tang
Yingzhi Sarah Tang brings five years of international experience in sustainable and development finance, having worked across North America, Asia, and Europe.
She is currently a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Finance (ISF) at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. In this role, she leads research on key areas such as impact investing, voluntary carbon markets, Canada’s sustainable labelled bond market, and transition finance.
Before joining ISF, Yingzhi was Deputy Director at a leading think tank in China, where she analyzed China’s overseas development finance in emerging markets. In her early career, she also gained public-private partnership experience in Switzerland through her internship at the UNEP Finance Initiative, supporting the (re)insurance sector in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into risk management and investment practices.
Yingzhi holds a research-based Master’s in Environmental Studies (Sustainability Management) and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies (Environment and Business) from the University of Waterloo, along with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics.
