Roselyne Yao is an International Development professional, based in Ottawa.

She is currently a Private Sector Engagement Officer at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), after serving as a Partnership Officer for the Centre’s Democratic and Inclusive Governance (DIG) division.

She is a former Project Manager at Dalberg, a strategic advisory firm focusing on global development, inclusive growth, and social impact. She indeed has a particular interest in finding ways to leverage the private sector as a driver for socio-economic impact.

She has about 10 years of experience in management and strategy consulting in Sub-Saharan Africa – working in countries such as Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Lesotho, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.

She has contributed to over 30 technical assistance projects for a variety of public, private, and development entities, on topics such as also agriculture and food security, country competitiveness, education to employment, energy, financial inclusion, and gender equality.

Before her consulting years, she evolved in the impact investing field as an Analyst for sustainable investment funds, as a Steering Committee member at the Africa Social Investment Forum (AfricaSIF), and as co-author of publications on impact investing in Africa – including the 2011 IFC-commissioned research report: "Sustainable Investment in sub-Saharan Africa".

Roselyne holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA), a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Boston University (USA), and a Diplômed’EtudesUniversitairesGénérales (DEUG) in Economics and Management from Université d’Auvergne Clermont 1 (France).
