Kazi Ishrat Jahan
Kazi Ishrat Jahan is a finance and impact investment professional with over 11 years of experience working across Asia and Africa with development finance institutions (DFIs), impact investors, fund managers, and the private sector. She has a track record of mobilizing international capital to advance financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, sustainable infrastructure and climate resilience in developing markets across Asia and Africa.
Ishrat currently serves as Senior Business Development Associate at Momentus Global, a women-led international consultancy, where she supports the firm’s strategic growth by driving business development efforts across emerging markets and priority sectors.
Prior to this, she was Deputy Head of Treasury at ASA International, one of the world’s largest international microfinance institutions, where she managed the company’s liquidity and structured financial solutions across 13 countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, India, the Philippines, and Pakistan. She has also held senior roles in commercial banking and her broader expertise spans treasury operations, infrastructure financing, trade finance, foreign currency hedging and structuring financial solutions, tailored to diverse development contexts.
A passionate advocate for climate action, gender equity and sustainable development, Ishrat brings a strong commitment to cross-sector impact. She now serves on the Board of Directors at CAFIID, contributing her deep financial expertise to strengthen Canada’s impact investing ecosystem. She is also a Steering Committee Member of CAFIID’s Gender Lens Investing Community of Practice (GLI CoP), advancing inclusive and gender-responsive investment practices.
Based in Toronto, Ishrat holds an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.
